Bolted Silo
Technical Features
Pre-fabrication & on-site assembly
Less labor dependence and construction uncertainty
Designed for long service life and simple maintenance
Why Choose Prefabricated Bolted Silos?

Steel silos are prefabricated in a factory and can be quickly assembled on site. Factory prefabrication combined with efficient on-site assembly reduces construction time, provides improved cost predictability, and results in a more reliable structure.
Having integrally prefabricated components with highly reliable designs, the silos can be equipped with systems for storage and handling of bulk materials and can be designed to sustain a variety of loading conditions as well as eccentric material discharge and seismic events.

- Flexible Scalability
- Modular design for silo size and capacity.
- Allows for phased construction and future expansion.
- Adaptable to Site Conditions
- Primarily entails lifting and assembly, with minimal site demands.
- Allows for construction in tight spaces. Retrofit construction friendly.
- Shorter Schedule
- 30%–50% faster than traditional silos from cast-in-place construction.
- Prefabrication and site preparation occur simultaneously.
- Minimal impact from construction activities and weather.
- Consistent Quality
- Factory prefabrication ensures a consistent end product.
- Improved quality of silos in strength and construction precision.

Foundation & Ground Treatment
Often dismissed as "civil works,” foundation engineering is the most important and most technically complex part of the large-scale assembly silo construction and the most critical veto of safety on the silo.
Technical Core
It is the integration of Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Mechanics, and Precision Measurement. This is the basis for ensuring silos “stand firm, do not collapse, and do not leak.”
- Primary Engineering Challenges
Silo Structure Design & Mechanics
Assembly silos are not a simple "iron bucket." The steel silo shells, stiffeners and circumferential tension elements form a complicated structural system that require highly specialized calculations for assembly silos and structural dynamics.
With confidence in silo performance, use Janssen Formula with dynamic loading. Balance loads according to the material moisture content and the feeding and discharging operations.
The designed purpose of steel plates is to counteract circumferential tension and bending. The strength and stability of all ring sections, bolt joints, and supports are guaranteed by engineering computations.
High-rise silo designs incorporate the effects of wind and snow as well as the vibrations and seismic structural response of the materials used to achieve adequate safety and stability.
The focus is on the local buckling of thin shell structures and the stability of the entire structure. The important consideration is the integrity silos and the prevention of cracking or buckling for the design working conditions.
Steel Panel Module & High-Strength Bolt Connection System
Leveraging the integrated benefits of enhanced material properties, constructive profiles, and precision fabrication, modular assembly and sealing systems, structures can be built which ensure rapid construction, precision assembly and sealing with total airtightness and excellent long-term durability.
- High-performance materials: Corrosion-resistant and high-capacity Z275+ galvanized and S350GD high-strength steel
- Optimized structural design: Matched plate thickness and stiffeners, as well as diameter and height, for balance and structural strength and rigidity
- Precision fabrication: Standardized cutting and forming to achieve consistent components for accurate assembly
- Reliable connection system: High-strength bolts (Grade 8.8) with sealing washers
- Stable performance: Controlled preload with an anti-loosening design for long-term performance
- Airtight & watertight: ±1 mm bolt-hole precision fit with an advanced sealing structure
- Optimized column design: Designed for vertical loads and wind bending moment effects
- Ring stiffening system: Wind rings to limit wall deformation and vibration
- Safer tall silos: Enhanced wind resistance and structural stability for medium and tall silos
Bulk Material Handling Systems
The major technologies include the mechanics of bulk material flow, combined with building ventilation, mechanical design, and the automation control. They determine operability, the stability and safety of the grain stored, and storage losses.
Concrete full cone or steel cone hoppers with wear liners. The incline exceeds the grain repose angle of 25-35° to ensure gravity flow. For large silos, multi-point discharge systems are designed with scrapers and/or belt conveyors to achieve discharge flow symmetry.
This system includes ground ducts, ventilation grilles, and centrifugal fans. The duct systems are designed to minimize aeration dead zones. Duct resistance is minimized, and air volume velocity and static pressure are determined based on the characteristics, moisture content, and storage capacity of the grain.
This system includes pneumatic flow aids, mechanical arch breakers, and vibrating discharge systems. These systems are needed to address central arching and edge retention in silos with large diameter flat bottoms.
