Spiral Silo
Construction Process
Turnkey EPC Execution Model
We take full responsibility for the entire project lifecycle, ensuring consistency from design to commissioning.
Core Execution Focus
Silo Manufacturing & Construction Basic Process
We take full control of the whole process from the design phase until the site is operational. You will experience uninterrupted service throughout.

Auxiliary steel components including silo roof trusses, support columns, access trestles, ladders , valves ... are numerically cut, prefabricated, welded, anti-corrosion inspected and verified in our standardized workshop.

Roof mounting starts after site equipment positioning and wall forming to approximately 2m height. Then internal/external stiffeners are added.

The steel coils are uncoiled, formed, and seamed (5-layer spiral) and ascend to create the silo wall at the rate of 5m/min, without the need of scaffolding.

After the designated height is achieved, the silo is fixed to the foundation. Since the entire structure is welded, a bolt-free securement is provided.
Our engineering team is ready to provide a customized solution.
QA/QC Inspection Framework
A stringent 6-stage process guaranteeing quality, safety and efficiency from zero base to hand over.
Construction Preparation Phase
- Survey and geological testing
- Entry and acceptance of equipment
- Development of organizational structure and construction plans
- Assignment of personnel and development of the emergency plan
Foundation & Support System
- Laying out and excavating foundations and pouring concrete
- Formwork and rebar
- Installation of concrete supports (Columns, beams, braces)
On-site Build of Silos
- Installation of the first wall section and positioning of the datum
- Construction of seam connections
- Construction of spiral climbers (plate feeding and forming) and placed in-line monitoring
Silo Roof & Bottom Construction
- Installation of roof purlins and roof panels
- Installation of the lightning protection and grounding systems
- Silo bottoms and discharge systems (flat and hopper bottom)
Ancillary Systems & Acceptance
- Installation of temperature and humidity monitoring systems
- Inspections of anti-corrosion coatings and paint films
- Final tests (water pressure test and overall settlement monitoring)
Safety & Quality Control
- Safety of high-altitude work and lifts
- Quality Control (three-inspections, signing and archiving of concealed work)
- Optimization of construction schedules and key node control
Advanced Engineering & Technology
A rigorous 6-phase methodology ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency from ground zero to final handover.
Forming Machine Design
Dynamic simulation supported design, of drive mechanics, elongation control and structural integrity.
Overall Design
- Main frame structure
- Roller layout (7-11 passes)
- Hydraulic/Gear Drive System
Key Component Processing
- Precision turning of forming rollers
- Seaming mechanism assembly
- Tolerance of ≤0.1mm
Debugging & Trial Run
Complete no-load and load operation trials. Seam strength tested and results monitored to ensure loading meets the requirement of ≥150 kN/m.
Plates are rolled after they have been galvanized or coated. This process uses a technology called spiral seam seaming, which has a bevel angle of 15-20 degrees.
- Ultrasonic flaw detection
- Coating ≥80μm
- Deformation rate <0.5%
Elevation re-measurement with support frame verticality kept to within ≤1/1000 and with strong seismic node reinforcements.
Involves tower crane lifts and spiral climbing construction to accomplish an average daily increase of at least 4m with laser alignment control.
Sealing ring is embedded with the installation of the exhaust and discharge ports. Then a water pressure test is performed at 1.2 times the design pressure.
